Surface Warp Lab

Drag the corner handles to deform the projection surface using perspective transform math.

Homography Matrix: loading...
Surface Geometry & Warping: Every projection mapping project begins with defining the surface geometry. Warping compensates for projection angle and surface shape. The 4 corner handles define a quadrilateral — the system calculates the perspective transform (homography) needed to make projected content appear undistorted on that surface. Drag the blue handles to simulate surface deformation.

Throw Ratio Formula: TR = Throw Distance ÷ Screen Width. A 1.5:1 throw ratio on a 3m screen requires 4.5m of throw distance. Short throw projectors (0.4–1.0) work in tight spaces; long throw (3.0+) can span large venues. Lens offset allows vertical shift for ceiling-mounted installations without keystone distortion.

Lumen & Brightness Lab

Simulate ambient light conditions and calculate required projector brightness.

Required Projector Brightness

ANSI Lumens Recommended
Contrast Ratio
480:1
Brightness Formula: Required Lumens ≈ (Ambient Lux × Surface Area) ÷ (Gain × π) × Safety Factor. A bright office (500 lux) washes out a 1000-lumen projector. For outdoor events, budget 10,000–30,000 lumens. Gain factor reflects screen reflectivity — matte white = 1.0, textured stone ≈ 0.3–0.6.

Zone Routing System

Click the building facade to paint zones, then assign each zone to a content channel.

Zone Routing maps specific content streams to architectural features. A window gets cascading text, a wall gets a geometric animation, a dome gets an organic flow. Each zone is independently addressable by a media server, enabling synchronized multi-surface playback. Click anywhere on the facade to paint a zone with the active channel color.

Edge Blending is how large venue installations tile a single giant image across 20+ meter surfaces using multiple overlapping projectors. Without blending, the overlap zone appears twice as bright — a harsh double-exposure. The blend gradient (gamma-corrected) ramps one projector down as the other ramps up, creating a seamless luminance handoff. S-curve blending minimizes visible banding at the transition edges.

Architectural Content Generator

Four live content presets mapped to a procedural building facade — architecture-aware animation.

Architecture-Aware Content: Each preset is designed to complement the building's structure. Grid Reveal traces the existing geometry; Ocean Flow respects window positions as obstacles; Text Cascade turns the facade into a data surface; Geometric Morph creates rhythmic tessellation. In professional mappings, content is authored in tools like MadMapper, Resolume, or TouchDesigner with the building's CAD geometry imported as a reference mask.
