OpenCV Pipeline
OpenCV's image processing pipeline transforms raw pixel data through sequential operations: color space conversion, filtering, thresholding, morphological operations, and contour extraction. Each stage reveals structural information invisible to the raw image.
Pose Estimation
MediaPipe BlazePose and OpenPose detect 17–33 keypoints across the human body from a single RGB frame. Joint positions are encoded as normalized (x, y) coordinates with per-joint confidence scores. Move your cursor over the canvas to animate the skeleton.
Optical Flow
Lucas-Kanade sparse optical flow tracks feature points across frames, computing per-point velocity vectors. Farneback dense optical flow estimates motion at every pixel, producing a full vector field. Move your cursor to drive the flow field below.
Semantic Segmentation
Fully Convolutional Networks assign a class label to every pixel in an image. DeepLab, SegNet, and Mask R-CNN decompose a scene into semantic regions — person, road, sky, vehicle — enabling machines to understand spatial context at pixel resolution.
Object Detection
YOLO (You Only Look Once) performs single-shot detection by dividing the image into a grid, predicting bounding boxes and class probabilities per cell simultaneously. Non-maximum suppression eliminates duplicate detections. Click the canvas to simulate a new frame.
| Class | Confidence | Box (x,y,w,h) | Bar |

Background Subtraction
Mixture of Gaussians (MOG2) models each pixel as a blend of Gaussian distributions representing the background. Pixels that deviate significantly from the learned background model are classified as foreground. Move cursor over the Scene view — foreground mask and infrared composite update in real time.
Artists & Researchers
The intersection of computer vision and creative practice spans from academic research to real-time art installations — building tools, questioning surveillance, and reimagining how machines perceive the world.
